Discover the heritage and history of the mining district of La Grand Combe, learn about the miners' life through the ages thanks to testimonies, tools and objects as well as the Ricard well - which is certified as a Historical Monument - and the drum of the extraction machine, also certified and unique in Europe.
The visit is guided by a volunteer former miner.
Through it, you will understand the work and hard working conditions of miners, as well as the economical impact mining had on the valley.Â
Free audioguides are available in French and English to help you discover the different collections of the museum.
Open from the February school holidays (zone C) to December 20th, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 2:00 to 5:30 PMÂ
In July and August, open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The last visit leaves an hour and a half before closing time.
Closed on Mondays.
